Oakland, California nurses went on strike at area hospitals. After the strike, involving tens of thousands of experienced nurses, was broken – hospital administrators prevented many of them from returning to their jobs.

The death of an individual at one of the hospitals is being blamed by the regional nurses union as the result of the absence of qualified and regular nurses at the location. The local hospital denies this claim, calls it irresponsible, and says the death was the result of a tragic accident.

But, perhaps the issue that lingers is : why are striking nurses demanding reasonable goals being denied the ability to return to their jobs as first response and healthcare providers?
