Workers at an allied Chrysler Plant in Dundee, Michigan plant to vote on a strike following imposition of rotating day/night shifts which have caused havok and health/personal concerns for workers at other local plants.
The contention is that the Dundee Plant which was slated to produce for Hyundai and Mitsubishi manufacturers are therefore not covered under and negotiation agreements reached between Chrysler and the United Auto Workers. The local UAW union contends that this is not the case and has authorized their strike.
The plebiscite, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, follows a strike authorization vote at the factory this month. Nearly 99 percent of workers voted in favor of the strike authorization proposal
